adaptations over time

My son is now 21. One thing I’ve never seen discussed in the literature is evaluation and measurement of constructive adaptation over time. I’m not talking about changes which occur with right hemisphere exercises. I’m just saying that, one thing my son has learned is to “say the right things”, to fake it. Of course, this only goes so far. But, if nothing else, he can fool someone superficially, (usually a professional who is evaluating him). His black cloud seems to get him in the end, though.
