I just finished reading The Source for NLD & I definitely saw my son. I did notice, though, that she seems to say that all children with NLD are early talkers and readers. Is that true for all of your children? My son’s first eval’s were for speech delays. (I see now that, at one year old, his real delays were mostly nonverbal…plus there was an oral-motor component too & that by 18 months he was considered advanced in speech.) Also,at five, he is really struggling in learning to read. I’m sure he’ll get it & then excel (like in speech) but he just seems to take longer to get everything. Is this common? Were any of your children with NLD also late talkers and/or readers too?
