I just discovered this message board, and hope you are still checking it for info. I have a l5 year old grandson, who lives with his grandfather and I who has just recently been diagnosed withNLD. Of course, it didn’t just begin! We have had a myriad of opinions in the past, so I don’t know if this label will fit any better than the others!. I do know, he seems to fit the pattern. Has poor social skills, no friends, inappropriate behavior and reaction to others, etc. etc, etc…He is also ADHD and has been on Ritalin for ll years. We couldn’t have kept him home this long without it. Now we are getting the adolescent problems too!!Surly responses, and secretive behavior, even when there is no need for it. He has a very low self-esteem image. Feels that the world is crazy and he isn”t. If any of this sounds familiar or if you want to ask me any thing, just email me. I’ve been through this twice!!His father {our son} also has the same behavior, He is now 38, doing okay, but not happy and barely hanging on..My heart bleeds every day for an answer…
