Don't Talk!

When David was in preschool, the kids in his class were supposed to begin class by sitting quietly while the teacher read to them.  Class began at about 8:00 a.m., and given other kids' energy levels, this requirement was unrealistic.

As Christmas neared, David decided that his preschool teacher did not want the kids to speak in school.  So, he finally decided he would not speak up, at all.  It took a while before I learned what had happened and we had a parent/teacher/student conference where he learned that it was okay to speak in class, just not out of turn.  Little did I know, 7 years ago, that David's literal thinking from NLD was most likely the cause.
