My "NLD" son is one of the most amazing human beings I have ever met. He is constantly worrying about others. He sees no "differences" between people. He is now getting ready to turn eighteen, we waited a very long time to have another child because of the extra support that he needs. My second son just turned three and my oldest is more of a parent figure than we sometimes are. We were concerned about him coping with  a new addition to the family but I knew all would be fine when we showed him a sonogram picture of his brother and the only question he had was: “Mom, can they tell if he’s alright because I don't want him to have the same problems I do?” . This broke my heart but I  realized that if the whole world had as much empathy as my single child has in his little finger, we would all be in a better place. He makes my heart happy.
